Chapters Transcript 5th Toe Gangrene and Hallux Debridement Case Review with Dr. De Los Santos Roberto De Los Santos, DPM describes his use of PuraPly MZ in a 5th toe gangrene and hallux debridement case. Hi, I'm Doctor Roberto de los Santos. I'm a foot and ankle specialist in Houston, Texas. I've been doing this for 4 years, and we're gonna go over case studies with organogenesis. Here we have a 58 year old male patient. Uh, one of the most common things that I see in the hospital is either gangrene or infection cases, and this is one of those cases. This is a vascular compromise, uh, patient. He had an occluded left popliteal artery stent, and here my goal was to remove the infection and the gangrene from the fifth toe and the halix of the left foot. Here I use Purely MZ post-surgically. Afterwards he received a vascular treatment done in 115-2024. They did a left common femoral to peroneial bypass using the great Safinus Bay. Here are images intraoperatively where I have amputated the fifth toe. I apply the purely MZ directly over the halix and into the incision site of the fifth toe. Uh, the surgery was done on late October 2024. So, a few days later, still at the hospital, you can see the the use of the purely, how great healing both at the Halix and the 5th amputation site. So very happy that I got to use this product. Published August 11, 2025 Created by
