Chapters Transcript Non-Healing Amputation Site Case Review with Dr. De Los Santos Roberto De Los Santos, DPM describes his use of PuraPly AM and PuraPly MZ in a non-healing amputation site case. Hi, I'm Doctor Roberto Delos Santos. I am a foot and ankle specialist, a podiatrist practicing in Houston, Texas, and we're gonna go over case studies with organogenesis. Here we have a non-healing amputation site of a patient in the hospital. I performed a right 4th ray amputation. This is a 62 year old male patient. He has a past history of hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, anemia, chronic kidney disease, and vascular issues. So this is one of the more complex patients that our goal is to remove the infection at the amputation site. So we applied purely MZ and Purely AM post debridement to support a healing environment. The surgery was done in late October of 2024. So this is a second picture showing how a sharp debrisment and application of both purely AM and Purely MZ can help just 5 days later within this surgical site where there is no more uh tendon exposed and little to no brow burden thanks to Purely MZ and AM combined. So now a patient that was at risk for a midfoot amputation can now have a potential to close this wound. Published August 11, 2025 Created by
