Chapters Transcript Testimonial – Roberto De Los Santos, DPM Roberto De Los Santos, DPM describes his experience with PuraPly AM and PuraPly MZ. I'm Doctor Roberto Lolos Santos. I'm a foot and ankle specialist that's focused on wound care and limb salvage, so I train in CSPM, California School of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, and I've been here practicing in Houston, Texas for about 4 years now. Uh, my expertise include managing complex surgical wounds, uh, diabetic foot ulcers, and I've been working and helping patients heal effectively and preventing any further complications. So a lot of, uh, my work is in the clinic about 30%. Uh, another 3rd is in the hospital and then the final third is surgery, so I get to do a little bit of everything emergent, non-emergent, uh, cosmetic, clinical, and seeing all ranges from young kids to all elderly population. One of the biggest things we face in podiatry and in surgery, uh, it has to do with challenging healing in the surgical sites, preventing infection while promoting regeneration. Factors like poor circulation, diabetes, patient noncompliance can also complicate the healing process, so it's very crucial that we address both the local wound environment and the patient's overall health. So one of the challenges is do we still have continued growth within the skin over the womb bed? So I use these products like PureApply AM and Pure Apply MZ for my diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and post-surgical wounds that might be showing up. In addition, I've used it more in my, uh, inpatient and outpatient clinic setting, so it's excellent for those complex wounds with burden. And then Preapply MZ is helpful for supporting a healing environment. I do use this product both in the OR and in the clinic, and it's helped me miraculously from in the hospital and out in the real world for my patients to get better. So a specific example of a patient and procedure where I use purely is it helped me save this patient's foot being amputated. So I had a patient with a diabetic foot ulcer that wasn't responding to traditional treatments. After using Purely AM, the wound showed significant improvement in a matter of weeks, which is a turning point in my, uh, patient's recovery. So Purely has become an invaluable part of my wound care practice, especially in cases where other treatments weren't as effective. So Purely is very different from other products on the market.
