Chapters Transcript Tumor Excision Case Review with Dr. De Los Santos Roberto De Los Santos, DPM describes his use of PuraPly MZ in a tumor excision case. Hello, I'm Doctor Roberto Delos Santos. I'm a foot and ankle specialist practicing in Houston, Texas, and we're gonna go over a case studies for organogenesis. So here we have a 45 year old female patient presented with a rare tumor on the right foot. She presented with my clinic having severe pain. She had gone to the ER. They tried to drain it thinking that it was a cyst. Uh, I asked, Do you want to get an MRI? She said, No, I want to get back to work as soon as possible. So we opted to do a soft tissue mass excision. I didn't know at the time what we were gonna get, but here are the visuals that we got inside the surgery. As you can see, the first was a big large encapsulated mass slightly discolored. After more debridement, we were down to the level of tendon which was attached to the extensor hallus's longest tendon, and we found that it was well enlarged, encapsulated and didn't know differentials at the time. Personally, I had to rule out giant cell tumor tendon sheet. Uh, we had negative margins and we did apply purely MZ post excision to support the healing environment because of a large void that it had. Here we see we had removed the mass. We had a large void with the skin tinting, so I decided to use the powder. We were able to close the skin and after two weeks she was able to go back to work. She is doing much better with pain free and later found out that she did have a specific rare tumor growing at the site. Published August 11, 2025 Created by
